Mohamed Rabie is an Egyptian novelist, born in 1978. He graduated from the Cairo Faculty of Engineering in 2002. His first novel, Kawkab Anbar (2010), won first prize in the emerging writers’ category of the Sawiris Cultural Award in 2012. His second novel, Year of the Dragon, was published in 2012, followed by his third novel Mercury in 2014, which will be published late 2016, entitled Otared, by the AUC Press new imprint Hoopoe Fiction, in English translation by Robin Moger. In 2012, he took part in the IPAF nadwa for promising young writers.
