Mohamad Alaaedin Abdul Moula is a writer and poet from Syria. He has published over 12 works of poetry, prose and literary criticism, his first poetry collection, Elegies for the Family of Hearts being published in 1990. He is a member of the Arab Writers’ Union in Syria. After years of intimidation, harassment, and bans on travel outside the country and finally losing his job for refusing to cooperate with the regime’s demands he left the country, arriving as a guest writer in Mexico City in 2011 under the auspices of the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN).
