Stefan Weidner (b. 1967, Cologne, Germany), is a literary translator from Arabic to German, a writer, editor and critic, and was editor of the journal Fikrun wa Fann until its demise. He studied Islamic Studies, German language and literature, and philosophy at the universities of Göttingen, Damascus, Berkeley, and Bonn, concluding his degree with a thesis on the Lebanese poet Adonis.
His latest book, 1001 Buch. Die Literaturen des Orients, a history of Arabic literature, is published August 2019 by Edition Converso.
