Hussain Alsagaaf
Hussain Alsagaaf is an art critic and writer, born in Baghdad, Iraqi in 1962. He has lived in Denmark since 1992. His first novel was published in 2007, his second won the 2017 Katara Prize in the Unpublished novel category. He has a book of essays, The Iraqi Novel – Images of Iraqi Pain (2014), see pages 22-28 above. He is the founder of the website al-Qithara al-Sumariya (Sumerian Harp) that specializes in 20th Century music and song of Mesopotamia.
