Chafik Targui, born in April 1976, is a Tunisian poet, novelist, critic and professor, specializing in Modern Arabic Literature. He publishes his articles in a number of Arab newspapers and magazines. He has two poetry collections, 2005 and 2007, and two novels. His debut novel Lavazza, which won the Dubai al-Thaqafa Prize, and Barbara (2018), is excerpted in Banipal 64 (Spring 2019).
