Fadhil Thamir is an Iraqi literary critic and translator, born in Baghdad in 1938. He has served as president of the Union of Iraqi Writers.
His many books of literary criticism in Arabic include The Repressed and the Unspoken in Arabic Narration (2005), Meta-narrative Structure in the Arabic Novel (2013), From Prison Text to Space of Interpretations (2016), and Poets of Modernism (2019).
