Walid Hermiz is an Iraqi poet, born in Basra in 1951, now living in Sweden. He has published seven collections of poetry, the first Nawaqees al-Kaldan (Bells of the Chaldeans) in 2007, and the last Las’at al-Mansiyat (The Sting of the Forgotten) in 2022.

In 2019 he published a novel (Gothenberg’s Gentle Wounds).

In 2020, a long dialogue that he conducted with Salim Barakat, the Syrian poet and novelist also living in Sweden, was published as a book.
