is a Tunisian writer. She has an MA in Philosophy from Baghdad University, 1981, and a PhD in French language and literature from Sorbonne, Paris (2002). She is president of the League of Tunisian Women Writers. She has three collections of short stories. She runs a regular literary salon in her house, Salon Hayet Raies. She was twice awarded a medal for cultural achievement by the President (2001 and 2006). She has been translated into French, German Danish and Spanish.
