Amal al-Jabouri
was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1967. She has a degree in English Literature from Baghdad University. Since 1986 she has published three collections of poetry. She also translates from English into Arabic. She lives in Berlin/Iraq and was editor of Diwan, a bilingual German-Arabic literary magazine.
