is an Australian author and translator who has settled in Amsterdam. He translates Dutch literature in a wide range of genres into English and has won several translation awards, including twice the David Reid Poetry Translation Prize, most recently for his translation of Gerritt Achterberg's "The Poet as a Cow. In 2009 he was awarded the New South Wales Premier's Translation Prize and the PEN Trophy for his body of work.

In 2010 he was named the co-winner of the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for his translation of Gerbrand Bakker's first novel, The Twin, from Dutch into English.
