André Naffis-Sahely
André Naffis-Sahely is a poet, and a translator of poetry and fiction from French and Italian, born in Venice and raised in Abu Dhabi.
His translations include The Bottom of the Jar by
Abdellatif Laâbi (Archipelago Books, 2013), The Barbary Figs by Rashid
Boudjedra (Arabia Books, 2013), The Last Days of Stefan Zweig by Laurent
Seksik (Pushkin Press, 2013) and Money by Émile Zola (Penguin Classics,
2014). Recent translations include The Physiology of the Employee by Honoré de Balzac (Wakefield Press, 2014), The Selected Poems of Abdellatif
Laâbi (Carcanet, 2015) and Confines of the Shadow by Alessandro Spina (Darf Publishers, 2015).
He reviews fiction and poetry for The Times
Literary Supplement, The Independent and Banipal. The latest publication of some of his poetry is in New Poetries VI (Carcanet, 2015).
